Heritage Doors & Floors LTD supply three different grades oak flooring. Tavern Grade Oak flooring, Rustic Grade Oak flooring & Prime Grade Oak flooring. All the timber used is a natural solid oak product. This traditional unfinished hardwood flooring is long length and the wooden floor is supplied natural/unfinished, this oak flooring is supplied with tongue and groove on the two long edges. End matching is now available on all heritage oak flooring (end matched is where the tongue and groove is also on the end of the boards) If you are wanting this option, please call the sheffield sales team where you can specify your requirments.
The moisture content is 6-12% as our range of oak flooring is specially kiln dried. We also give you, the customer, the option wether to have stress grooves or not, square edge or micro bevell. We sell a number of oils & waxes (Osmo & Saicos) and underlays on the accessories page to finish off your American white oak job professionally.
Oak Flooring - Tavern Grade - Now available End matched if required
The Tavern Grade American White Oak Flooring is suitable for older properties. The oak boards include small and large knots, cracked knots, colour variation, splits and grub worm holes. The oak character in these oak boards can be filled by the customer if preffered. The tavern solid oak floor when complete looks warm and inviting in rustic pubs, log cabins, old barns, church halls etc.
The tavern grade oak flooring is available in 5" and 6" oak boards and the lengths available are between 600mm - 4.3m lengths. The moisture content is 6-12% because the heritage range flooring is specially kiln dried.

Oak Flooring - Rustic Grade - Now Available End matched if required
The Rustic Grade American White Oak Flooring will contain a variation of knots. Some oak boards may contain knots which are quite small, while other oak boards may contain larger knots which may require some filling. There are no limits to the size of these characteristic knots that is not liked by the end user, you can either fill the knot or simply just cut it out and use the rest of the board. The oak boards are not end trimmed which means the boards will contain end splits. The overall colour of the rustic oak floor is a beautiful warm brown but light sapwood and some mineral colours are allowed. The rustic oak flooring is supplied natural/unfinished, so to gain the perfect colour for the perfect floor, simply pick the oil, wax or varnish finish that you require, whether its clear, dark, medium or light oak, its that simple. The heritage range solid oak flooring is available in 6 different widths 4", 5", 6", 7", 8" and 9". The rustic grade oak floors are also available in long length oak boards from 2.1m - 3.6m. The boards are tongue and groove. You now have a choice wether you have your rustic oak boards micro bevelled or square edge. Oak Flooring - Select Character - Now available end matched if requried
The Select Character solid oak flooring is American White Oak. The timber floor will contain a variation of characteristic knots. This is a select character, which means any larger knots or defects will be cut out. The flooring is end trimmed so no end splits will appear at the end of the board, the oak flooring is also end matched (T&G all round). This will make the oak floor easier and quicker to fit. The oak floor is supplied in 1.2m - 3m lengths. The overall colour of the select character is a beautiful warm brown but light sapwood and some mineral colours are allowed. The rustic oak flooring is supplied natural/unfinished. To gain the colour you want, simply pick the oil, wax or varnish finish that you require. You can find these finishes by clicking here.
The flooring is available in 5", 6", 7", 8" and 9". You have the option to choose between micro bevel or sqaure edge. You can also have your oak boards stress grooved, we can do this upon request. Oak Flooring - Prime Grade - Now available End Matched if required.
The prime grade American White Oak Flooring shows a faint natural grain pattern and fewer smaller knots. One or Two large knots may be present on the longer planks which are part of the grading - but the end user can cut these out if preferred upon fitting. The prime grade is a very high quality timber due to the fewer amount of knots. The colour in the prime oak is a beautiful warm brown, less mineral colours are allowed. Prime oak boards may contain a few thumb nail size knots, whilst other prime oak boards are clear. The overall effect shows a warm pleasing colour with natural close grain patterns. The prime solid oak flooring is supplied natural, so to gain the perfect colour for the perfect floor, simply pick the oil, wax or varnish that you require, whether its dark, medium or light oak..its really that simple. The solid oak boards are supplied natural/unfinished. The prime grade oak flooring is available in 4", 5", 6", 7", 8" and 9". The heritage range supply our solid oak flooring in long lengths 2.1m - 3.6m lengths. The moisture content of these boards are 6-12% as the heritage range solid oak flooring is specially kiln dried. You have the choice whether to have your oak planks square edge or micro bevelled, you even have the choice whether to have your oak boards with stress grooves or not. The Heritage Range Solid Oak Flooring is delivered in traditional long lengths. The solid oak flooring is delivered as shown in the picture below, so be prepared as this is not on a small pallet or pre-boxed!
